Network Personnel is part of the Workspace group. Workspace was established in 1985 to stimulate social and economic regeneration in the Magherafelt area by initially providing enterprise units, business support services and employability initiatives. They are now regarded as one of Northern Ireland’s leading social enterprises.
Network Personnel is a recognised training and employability organisation offering support to those wishing to find work. They currently deliver a number of initiatives to build confidence, enhance skills, and ultimately facilitate participants to find and sustain employment.
THE WORK-IT PROGRAMME
The Work IT programme is funded through the Southern Social Investment Fund with the lead partner being Newry, Mourne and Down District Council. The Work IT Programme is available to those living within the top 10% most disadvantaged Super Output Areas within the Southern SIF Zone and to those living within the top 20% most deprived areas in one or more eligible domains of:
- Education and Health
Qualifying participants are aged between 16yrs to 65yrs and are either:
- Are lone parents
- Have a disability
- Those who are unemployed due to the recession and require re-skilling.
Portadown, Lurgan, Newry and Coalisland Work IT programmes are aimed at young people aged 16yrs and 17yrs. The programme runs from July 2015 to March 2018 and offers the following options: -
- One to one holistic mentoring, in work support and job search support
- Team Building Sessions and outdoor pursuits
- Subsidised work placements
- Accredited training courses
- Non Accredited personal development courses
- Community Projects
Not only does the Work IT Programme benefit individuals who engage in the programme but local community groups are also supported through delivering projects of benefit to the community with the help of the young people enrolled in Work IT.
